Born to Welsh and Japanese, hippy-artist-parents in the UK, Ben Nakamura Whitehouse left the never ending ‘jam sessions’ and pottery behind, and rebelled by heading to the big city, landing a career in advertising. It was a fortuitous turn of events for all involved.

Falling in with the highest profile production houses of the time, Ben started his career working for and being mentored by some of the industry’s biggest creative talents, in the UK, Europe and US. First as a director’s assistant, then as a creative researcher and ghost writer, and then inevitably as a director in his own right.

Today, Ben lives in London, but works globally as a performance and comedy director for some of the world’s biggest brands and their agencies, including Amazon, Subway, Twix, X/Twitter, Pinterest, and Nissan, among others. His dynamic mix of character driven storytelling, visual humour, and an ability to create distinctive worlds for campaign ideas to play out in, has seen Ben become a highly sought helmer.
